Chewy buttery sugar cookies
Warning, these cookies are addictive. Super easy, classic chewy sugar cookies.
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking poweder
- 1/2 teaspoon table salt
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter room temp
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
Dough assembly:
- Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt) in a bowl
- Using a stand mixer or handheld electric mixer, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes. Add the vanilla and egg, and beat to incorporate. Add the flour in halves, and beat on medium-low until incorporated.
Baking Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 F, line baking sheet with parchment paper. Form a heaping tablespoon of cookie dough, and place about 2 inches apart on sheet. If you want a little added texture, roll the cookie dough balls in sugar before placing on baking sheet (I skip this step as I think this is a little overkill, but it is delicious).
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until barely golden brown. Cool on sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
